This is a sturdy stand, the particular design of which goes well with a recently purchased 52" flat Samsung (LNT5265 52" 1080p LCD HDTV) that looks and works well considering the length of the top shelf is 50" versus the TV screen's length of 52" (1" on either side is hardly discernible to the eye). Shelving is more than adequate for the usual components. It was fairly straightforward to assemble in less than an hour by one person.
